+ Get organized for travel: Learn about your destination (This edition: Travel tips for France)

Angela-by-Luc-Besson-Travel-Tips-for-ParisWhat is the best way to get organized for travel? There are many steps you need to take, but one of my favorite travel tips may seem a little odd: learn about the destination. Whenever we are planning our next adventure, we load up on movies that were filmed in the country to which we’re headed. We look for sites and restaurants that we might be interested in experiencing. We also listen to the language so that it won’t be completely foreign to us when we arrive. We know we won’t become fluent, but we’ll pick up enough words and phrases to greet and thank folks in the language of their country, which often gets us much better service. Since we have some friends who are headed to France next summer, here are some travel tips for France – a few of my French movie recommendations – to prepare for your trip:

Angel-a

Paris, Je T’aime

Midnight in Paris

The Intouchables

La Vie en Rose

The Bourne Identity
